On the 28th (local time), according to local media, a confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported in Hamburg, a northern port city in Germany.
The Hamburg health authorities announced that a man who had traveled to Italy tested positive for COVID-19 the day before.
In the southwestern region, confirmed cases increased significantly the previous day.
In North Rhine-Westphalia, 14 additional infections were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the region to 20.
In this area, about 1,000 citizens who may have come into contact with confirmed cases at events such as carnival celebrations are currently under self-quarantine.
In Baden-W?rttemberg, 4 more confirmed cases were added, totaling 8. One additional case was confirmed in Rhineland-Palatinate. In Frankfurt, Hesse, located in the central-western part of the country, one confirmed case was also reported the previous day.
Additionally, one more confirmed case was reported in Bavaria, where the first case was identified on January 27.
