Intromedic Distributes Top-Rated Disinfectant by US CDC
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Intromedic announced on the 28th that it has secured the exclusive domestic distribution rights for the Swedish sterilizing disinfectant ‘LifeClean International AB (hereinafter LifeClean)’.
LifeClean Disinfectant LifeClean Agri uses chlorine dioxide (ClO2), known to inactivate the coronavirus, as its main ingredient. The company explained that it is preservative-free, non-toxic, and has antiviral functions, killing various viruses and bacteria within 2 minutes.
Research results on this product were presented at the 14th International Infection Control Council (ICC) General Assembly held in Malta in March 2014. It was also the only product recognized by the Danish National Serum Institute (SSI) as ready for immediate use, and received the highest rating from the US CDC. The company stated that it has been recognized as a sterilizing disinfectant by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), obtaining international certification (OSHA).
LifeClean has registered related patents in seven countries including the US, Korea, Japan, and Australia, and is currently applying for patents in Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and India.
Intromedic emphasized that while existing disinfectants require a minimum disinfection time of 10 minutes, LifeClean’s product has a rapid sterilizing power within 2 minutes, gaining attention in the US and Europe.
A company official said, "LifeClean’s product has about five times the sterilizing power of similar products, taking only 1 to 2 minutes for sterilization," adding, "Compared to existing sterilizers, it is price competitive, odorless and non-irritating, and eco-friendly with no harmful byproducts, which led to the decision for domestic distribution."
