Seoul Museum of Art's 7 Branches Closed... Expansion of Online Services Using SNS
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The Seoul Museum of Art announced on the 26th that, in response to the COVID-19 crisis alert and to ensure the safety of citizens, it has fully closed seven facilities including the Seosomun Main Building of the Seoul Museum of Art starting from the 25th.
Instead, it plans to expand online museum experience services using the Seoul Museum of Art’s social media (SNS) to uphold citizens' rights to enjoy culture and the arts.
From the 27th, the museum will increase the number of posts on its currently operated SNS by 1.5 times and communicate with citizens through real-time messaging functions during museum operating hours. Additionally, exhibitions scheduled to close during the closure period will offer online viewing opportunities through various plans, including possible extensions of the exhibition period.

The museum also stated that, in preparation for a prolonged closure, it plans to gradually expand online museum experience services by utilizing live streaming functions on social media to introduce the museum’s collections and conduct educational programs.
