SKT Euljiro Headquarters Also Breached... Building Closed After COVID-19 Positive Case Confirmed
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] An employee belonging to the Seoul headquarters of SK Telecom, the No. 1 mobile carrier in Korea, tested positive in the first round for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on the 26th. The Euljiro headquarters T Tower will be closed for three days starting from that day.
SK Telecom stated, "We were notified by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that a T Tower employee tested positive in the first screening," and added, "According to the KCDC guidelines, we will restrict access to T Tower for three days and carry out disinfection." This is the first time the headquarters building has been closed since the company's founding.
The employee did not come to work that day and was self-quarantining at home. It was reported that the employee underwent testing due to suspicious symptoms and received a positive result in the first screening.
After confirming the employee's first positive test, SK Telecom immediately evacuated all employees inside the T Tower building through a broadcast. For employees working from home, text messages were sent to check whether they had any contact with the infected employee.
