Damyang-gun Prohibits Group Events Amid 'COVID-19 Spread'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 26th that it has suspended the operation of senior centers in the area and banned all events of institutions and organizations within the region until the 1st of next month due to the spread of community concerns following the escalation of COVID-19 to a critical stage.
As the COVID-19 crisis level was raised to the 'critical' stage, the county expanded the temporary assembly restriction administrative order issued on the 25th for multi-use facilities such as religious institutions to cover all institutions and organizations in the area, prohibiting all events where many people gather, including entertainment, assemblies, and ancestral rites.
Additionally, with the suspension of operations at 363 senior centers in the area, local self-support centers, village chiefs, and volunteer organizations are directly delivering lunch boxes, side dishes, bread, milk, and more to support vulnerable groups facing difficulties.
