Cafe24 and Daekyo Collaborate on Online Content Business Cooperation
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 announced on the 26th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with comprehensive education company Daekyo to promote intellectual property (IP) licensing.
Through this, they will establish an 'online shopping mall exclusive licensing service.' Cafe24 will support convenient use of various IP licenses owned by Daekyo. Online shopping mall operators will be able to easily utilize everything from character product development to production, distribution, and marketing promotions, as well as plan various products using Daekyo's characters such as 'Jurassic Cops.'
Additionally, Cafe24 and Daekyo will collaborate on building online shopping malls to revitalize e-commerce business. They plan to utilize various content IPs from Daekyo's broadcasting channel, 'Daekyo Children TV,' for media commerce.
Lee Jae-seok, CEO of Cafe24, said, “We expect that shopping mall operators will secure differentiated business competitiveness by integrating Daekyo's content IP,” and added, “We will actively explore new business opportunities through partnerships with highly competitive companies.”

Meanwhile, Daekyo provides various educational services including 'Noonnoppi' and operates media businesses. It runs the children's specialized broadcasting channel Daekyo Children TV and the baby specialized broadcasting channel Daekyo Baby TV. It also owns content IPs such as 'Surviving in the Jungle,' 'Jurassic Cops,' 'Shining Star,' 'Cococo Alu,' and 'Handa Man.'
