3 Additional COVID-19 Cases Reported in Songpa-gu
Songpa-gu Mayor Park Seong-su to Announce on the 25th at 3:30 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 25th, 3 additional confirmed cases were reported in Songpa-gu alone.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, announced at a briefing at 3:30 PM that the 5th confirmed case in Songpa-gu is a 44-year-old woman living in Jamsil-dong. The confirmed case is a colleague of the 2nd confirmed case in Songpa-gu. After hearing about her colleague's COVID-19 confirmation after 10 PM on the 22nd, she inquired at the Songpa-gu Public Health Center at 6 PM on the 23rd. On the morning of the 24th at 10 AM, she visited the screening clinic for testing and was finally confirmed positive on the same day. She has been transferred to Chung-Ang University Hospital, a nationally designated inpatient treatment facility.
Additionally, the 6th confirmed case in Songpa-gu is a 27-year-old woman living in Seokchon-dong. Confirmed to be working at the Police Hospital, she was tested on the afternoon of the 24th and confirmed positive at 8 AM on the 25th. She is currently receiving care at the Police Hospital.
Along with this, the 7th confirmed case in Songpa-gu is a 40-year-old man living in Bangi-dong. He met with the 3rd confirmed case in Songpa-gu for business. Although he had no symptoms on the morning of the 24th, after hearing about the 3rd confirmed case in Songpa-gu, he was tested at 7 PM the same day and confirmed positive at 8 AM on the 25th. He has been transferred to the National Medical Center.
Mayor Park stated, "The district is conducting disinfection around the residences of confirmed cases according to the COVID-19 response manual," and added, "Epidemiological investigations are underway for the 3 additional confirmed cases. We will share their movement paths as soon as they are confirmed. We will make every effort to take additional measures based on the results."
He also expressed great concern and worry as confirmed cases have emerged at the Police Hospital, which many residents frequently use, and pledged to maintain active cooperation with the Police Hospital and to do their best to prevent further spread of COVID-19 through prompt information sharing with residents.
