Three Candidates Confirmed for Democratic Party Primary in Hampyeong County By-election
Kim Seong-chan, Lee Sang-ik, and Jeong Mun-ho to be Final Candidates Selected Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The three candidates who will compete in the Democratic Party primary for the Jeonnam Hampyeong County Governor by-election, held alongside the April 15 National Assembly election, have been confirmed.
On the 25th, according to the Democratic Party and local political circles, the Democratic Party's nomination management committee for the by-election of basic local government heads announced Kim Seongchan, Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party Central Committee Policy Committee; Lee Sangik, former CEO of Samyoung Agricultural Cooperative Corporation; and Jeong Munho, Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party Central Committee Human Rights Committee, as the final primary candidates.
Kim Cheonhee, former principal of Saetbyeol Kindergarten, who had applied for the nomination, was eliminated.
The Democratic Party plans to select the final candidate through a primary election next month.
