COVID-19 Confirmed Case of Gimpo Resident Tested at Mapo-gu Screening Clinic
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) announced on the 25th that a resident of Gimpo-si who was tested at the Mapo-gu Public Health Center screening clinic was confirmed positive for COVID-19.
On the 24th, a 36-year-old man living in Gimpo-si, while commuting to his office in Seoul via the Airport Railroad, experienced fever and chills. He got off at Digital Media City Station and took a taxi to visit the Mapo-gu Public Health Center screening clinic.
Subsequently, the Mapo-gu Public Health Center screening clinic collected a specimen and requested testing, receiving notification of a positive COVID-19 diagnosis around 9:20 PM on the 24th.
Accordingly, Mapo-gu immediately strengthened disinfection measures at Digital Media City Station.
The confirmed patient, who was self-isolating at his home in Gimpo-si after visiting the Mapo-gu screening clinic, was admitted to Gyeonggi Medical Center Icheon Hospital around 12:20 AM on the 25th. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency is currently conducting a detailed epidemiological investigation regarding his movements.
