Lotte Aluminum to Build Cathode Foil Production Plant for Secondary Batteries in Hungary
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] Lotte Aluminium announced on the 25th that it will invest 110 billion KRW to build a cathode foil production plant for secondary batteries used in eco-friendly electric vehicles in Hungary.
Cathode foil is an aluminum foil used throughout the cathode collector that determines the capacity and voltage of secondary batteries capable of repeated charging and discharging. It collects electrons generated by electrochemical reactions and supplies the electrons needed during discharge.
The plant will be established on a 60,000㎡ site within the T?r?kb?lint industrial complex in Hungary, where eco-friendly automotive infrastructure is established. Construction began in April this year and is scheduled to be completed in the first half of next year.
