9,055 Candidates Took the 2020 Certified Public Accountant First Exam... Competition Ratio 4.1 to 1
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] It was reported that 9,055 candidates took the first Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam held on the 23rd. This is a provisional count showing a decrease of 543 candidates (4.7%) compared to the previous year.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service on the 24th, the competition rate for the first exam was 4.1 to 1, down from 4.3 to 1 the previous year. In particular, the Daegu region, where COVID-19 cases have recently surged, saw a drop of 11.9 percentage points, recording the lowest attendance rate among test locations at 77.7%.
Objections to the provisional answer key will be accepted from today until the 3rd of next month. The finalized answers will be announced in mid-next month after review by external experts.

The results of the first exam will be announced on April 3rd. The number of candidates passing the first exam will be selected up to twice the minimum number planned for the second exam (1,100), i.e., up to 2,200 candidates. In case the number exceeds 2,200 due to ties, all tied candidates will be accepted.
