"Why Won't You Meet Me?" 60s Man in Critical Condition After Self-Immolation in Front of Ex-Lover's House
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] A man in his 60s suffered severe injuries after setting himself on fire because he was refused a meeting.
According to the Michuhol Police Station in Incheon on the 24th, at around 1:40 a.m. the previous day, Mr. A (63, male) poured a flammable substance on his body and ignited it with a lighter in the hallway on the 3rd floor of a four-story multi-family house in Juan-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon.
The police believe that Mr. A went to the house where his ex-lover, Ms. B, was staying and set himself on fire because she refused to meet him.
Mr. A sustained burns over his entire body from the fire and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but his condition is critical.
