This project was established to improve the learning abilities of students who have relatively fewer opportunities for education and to reduce educational disparities.
The academies participating in the project include a total of 29 locations, such as local tutoring academies (Korean, English, Math, Science, Social Studies) and arts and physical education academies (Music, Art, Physical Education).
The district plans to select 80 students by receiving recommendations for eligible low-income elementary, middle, and high school students from schools and community service centers by the 28th of this month.
Once selected, students can attend one academy per student free of charge until the end of the year, reflecting their residence and preferred subjects.
Academies participating in the ‘Academy Education Sharing Project’ will receive donation receipts based on the grade and lecture unit prices set by the Community Chest of Korea.
For more details, inquiries can be made through the Education Policy Division (☎820-1764).
Since its launch in 2007, the ‘Academy Education Sharing Project’ has involved 542 academies and benefited a total of 1,826 students.
Additionally, the district operates the ‘Our Village Education Sharing English Class’ for 90 low-income and marginalized elementary students in the area until December.
At 10 village hub locations by district, a small-group intensive English education program tailored to individual learning abilities is conducted, with all tuition fees fully supported by the district.
