According to Kyungpook National University Hospital on the 23rd, the 38th patient, who tested positive on the 19th and was being treated in a negative pressure ward, died at around 2:40 PM.
The patient passed away at Kyungpook National University Hospital at around 2:30 PM while receiving treatments such as hemodialysis. Before her death, she showed severe symptoms including respiratory distress.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters is currently investigating the exact cause of death of this patient. If it is officially confirmed that she died due to COVID-19, she will be counted as the fifth death in South Korea.
As of 4 PM on the same day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daegu is 302. Among the confirmed cases, 158 are currently hospitalized, and the remaining 144 are scheduled to be admitted sequentially.
