[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] The Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 22nd that the first Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam will be held as scheduled on the 23rd this year.
Regarding concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the financial authorities explained, "If the exam is postponed due to special circumstances, we plan to distribute additional press releases and send guidance messages to the examinees."
The financial authorities stated, "After 0:00 on the 23rd, regardless of the situation, the exam will be conducted under strengthened measures."
The financial authorities added, "To alleviate examinees' anxiety, we plan to implement additional measures that are stricter than the operating guidelines of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's task force," explaining, "Disinfection at each test site will be expanded from twice before and after the exam to once before, once during, and once after the exam."
The financial authorities plan to conduct the exam at the Daegu test site, designated as a special infectious disease control area, with wider spacing between examinees compared to other test sites.
COVID-19 confirmed patients and those under self-quarantine are not allowed to take the exam, and asymptomatic individuals who have visited China, as well as general fever patients, will take the exam separately in a designated provisional test room.
Examinees must wear masks and disinfect their hands with hand sanitizer provided at the entrance of the test site before entering.
