A Man in His 30s Caught Stealing Valuables from a Drunken Friend Who Fell Asleep
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Dongbu Police Station in Gwangju announced on the 21st that they have arrested Jumo (30) on charges of theft for stealing precious metals while drinking at a friend's house.
Jumo is accused of stealing precious metals worth a total of 2.3 million KRW from the neck and fingers of his friend Park (30), who had fallen asleep, while drinking together at an apartment in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 1 a.m. on December 1 last year.
Investigations revealed that Jumo stole the items to cover entertainment expenses and sold them to a gold and silver shop.
The gold and silver shop was confirmed to have followed proper purchase procedures, including ID verification, so Jumo was not charged with possession of stolen goods.
