Two COVID-19 Patients Hospitalized at Seoul National University Hospital Undergoing Oxygen Therapy
Among three patients infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) hospitalized at Seoul National University Hospital, two are receiving oxygen therapy.
Seoul National University Hospital held a press conference on the 20th and stated, "Out of six confirmed patients who received inpatient treatment, three have been discharged, and among the remaining three, two are receiving oxygen supply and treatment with the antiviral drug 'Lopinavir'." Lopinavir is an AIDS treatment drug sold by AbbVie in the United States.
The patients currently being treated at this hospital are confirmed cases number 21 (60 years old), 29 (82 years old), and 30 (68 years old). Patient number 29 is the oldest confirmed case in the country.

Professor Kim Nam-jung of the Department of Infectious Diseases said about this patient, "Because of the advanced age, there is great concern," adding, "According to data from China, the fatality rate is 0.2% for people in their 40s, but it rises to 14.6% for those in their 80s, so we are on alert." Regarding the death of one COVID-19 confirmed patient on this day, he stated, "As the number of patients increases, the number of deaths is also expected to rise." He continued, "Even if deaths occur, the measures such as conservative treatment and antiviral therapy do not change."
