[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] A patient in their 60s hospitalized at Daenam Hospital in Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk, where two confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have occurred, died from suspected pneumonia symptoms, and quarantine authorities are testing for COVID-19 infection.
Jung Eun-kyung, Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a regular briefing on the afternoon of the 20th, "There is one deceased person at Daenam Hospital in Cheongdo, and we are conducting a (COVID-19) test," adding, "We will announce the results once they are available."

According to quarantine authorities, the deceased had recently been receiving treatment for high fever symptoms and was also reported to have pneumonia symptoms. This deceased patient was a different inpatient from the additional confirmed COVID-19 case identified at Daenam Hospital on the previous day (the 19th).
