View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 20th that it has prepared measures such as 'activating flower consumption' and 'using external restaurants' to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnated due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
LH explained, "Recently, due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, various group events such as company dinners at corporations, universities, and local governments have been canceled or postponed," adding, "As a result, local neighborhood markets and traditional markets have been stagnated, so LH has prepared measures to help revitalize the local economy."
First, LH will introduce a 'departmental external restaurant usage day system' to encourage employees to have meals at external restaurants near the office building at least once a week instead of the in-house cafeteria. The evening operation closure of the in-house cafeteria will be expanded to twice a month.
With nationwide graduation and entrance ceremonies being reduced or canceled one after another, flower farmers, who have been directly hit in sales, will also be supported through 'activating flower consumption.'
LH will purchase flowers in bulk from local flower farmers' cooperatives and hold an event to give flower bouquets to customers visiting the office building. Additionally, potted plants will be placed in the office spaces of the headquarters and regional offices nationwide to improve the working environment.
Furthermore, flower bouquets will be given to participants of various academic conferences, seminars, award ceremonies for outstanding employees, and employee communication and harmony events to promote flower consumption.
