KOLMAR Korea Obtains Industry's First Official Test Report Issuance Qualification
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Korean cosmetics ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) company Kolmar Korea announced on the 20th that it has become the only domestic cosmetics company to obtain the qualification to issue internationally accredited test reports from the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS).
Kolmar Korea stated, "With this qualification, we can now issue internationally recognized accredited test reports in the fields of harmful substances (heavy metals) and microorganisms in cosmetics on our own. This secures objective quality competitiveness and establishes our credibility as a leading specialized manufacturer."
KOLAS is an organization established to establish national standard systems and perform accreditation of various testing institutions. Due to its rigorous certification procedures and periodic qualification examinations, it is difficult to maintain accreditation, making Kolmar Korea the only domestic cosmetics company to have obtained this qualification.
With this certification, test reports issued by Kolmar Korea can be utilized by 100 accreditation bodies in 103 countries that are members of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and 39 accreditation bodies in 24 countries that are members of the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC).
In particular, client companies wishing to verify the quality completeness of their products can use these reports not only to assess product completeness and improve vulnerable areas but also for marketing purposes when expanding overseas.
To obtain this qualification, Kolmar Korea appointed 10 quality managers and laboratory practitioners to fulfill mandatory legal education and pass various tests such as international proficiency testing. Additionally, Youngjoo Lee, Head of Production Division, was appointed as the management supervisor.
Youngjoo Lee, Head of Production Division, said, "Obtaining KOLAS accreditation demonstrates that Kolmar Korea's testing capabilities have reached an international level. We will do our best to supply safe products with quality competitiveness to both domestic and overseas clients in the future."
