"Elementary Student Confirmed with COVID-19 Has Had No Contact with Other Students"
Ministry of Education Announces Winter Break Starting January 3 for Suwon Elementary Schools Where Students Are Enrolled
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The 32nd child patient confirmed with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was found not to have had contact with other students while in self-quarantine.
The Ministry of Education stated on the 19th, "The elementary school in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, attended by the COVID-19 confirmed elementary student, held its closing ceremony on January 3rd," adding, "Since then, there has been no contact with other students at the school."
The student is an 11-year-old female elementary school student, the daughter of the 20th confirmed COVID-19 patient (42, female, Korean) and the niece of the 15th confirmed patient (43, male, Korean).
According to health authorities, the student has been in self-quarantine since February 2nd. It is expected that an epidemiological investigation will determine whether the student attended other places such as academies between January 4th, during the school vacation, and February 2nd.
