Guro-gu Prepares Measures to Alleviate Local Tax Burden for Residents Affected by COVID-19
Reporting and Payment Deadline Extensions... District Office Restaurants Also Closed Every Friday to Revitalize Local Businesses
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Guro-gu has prepared measures to alleviate the local tax burden for residents affected by COVID-19.
On the 19th, Guro-gu announced, "To reduce the difficulties of residents affected by COVID-19, we will implement support measures such as extension of filing and payment deadlines and deferral of tax audits."
The support targets include COVID-19 confirmed patients and quarantined individuals, as well as businesses that suffered economic losses due to closures following visits by confirmed patients.
Guro-gu will reduce the local tax burden for these groups by ▲extending the filing and payment deadlines for acquisition tax, local income tax, etc., ▲deferring tax audits if subject to investigation, and ▲postponing collection and disposition of delinquent taxes. For more details, contact the Taxation Division of the district office (860-2761) or the Collection Division (for delinquency-related matters, 860-2741).

To revitalize the local commercial district, which has been depressed due to the impact of COVID-19, Guro-gu has decided to close the district office cafeteria every Friday for the time being. Due to the cafeteria closure, district office employees will need to use external restaurants. Previously, the cafeteria was closed on the second and fourth Fridays of each month.
