Gwangju Dong-gu, Establishment and Implementation of the 2020 Comprehensive Integrity Plan
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 19th that it will promote the '2020 Integrity Comprehensive Plan' to realize a 'clean and trustworthy Dong-gu with integrity.'
In 2019, Dong-gu achieved significant improvements in integrity, receiving a grade 2, one level higher than the previous year, according to the Integrity Measurement results by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
Not satisfied with this, Dong-gu will implement the '2020 Integrity Comprehensive Plan' to establish a culture of integrity throughout all administrative areas by promoting substantial integrity policies based on the analysis of evaluation results, aiming to become the top district in integrity.
The district will pursue 15 practical tasks across three major areas to improve overall integrity.
First, to create an honest public service society, it will activate autonomous internal controls such as ▲monitoring telephone courtesy for high-quality administrative services ▲issuing focused integrity alerts during vulnerable periods ▲operating mandatory integrity education ▲managing the Cheongbaek-e system to check and prevent errors and corruption among public officials in advance.
Second, to strengthen the prevention of corruption factors, it will establish and implement strong external control integrity policies including ▲enhancing corruption prevention through preventive audits (inspections) ▲activating online and offline corruption reporting ▲strengthening management of employment restrictions for retirees and those dismissed for misconduct ▲operating the Integrity Clean-call system.
Third, to spread a culture of integrity with residents, it will ▲build an autonomous public-private cooperation system ▲operate a resident auditor system involving residents.
