On the 18th, a petition titled 'Request to Cancel Daegu City K-pop Concert' was posted on the Blue House petition board. As of 1 PM on the 19th, just one day after posting, about 9,500 people had agreed.
The petitioner argued, "How can the K-pop concert proceed as planned on the 8th of next month?" and added, "If all 30,000 seats are sold out, Chinese fans will flock to Daegu in large groups, so it should not proceed."
They further pointed out, "Children's daycare centers, kindergartens, elementary, middle, high schools, and universities are unable to hold graduation or entrance ceremonies, so how can a concert be held just to see one singer?"
They also demanded the mayor of Daegu, saying, "Are you not thinking about protecting Daegu citizens but only about making money from tourists? Please cancel the concert immediately."
On the same day, another petition titled 'Request to Cancel Daegu Super Concert with at Least 8,000 Chinese Entering' was posted on the Blue House petition board.
The petitioner stated, "The Super Concert held on March 8, 2020, at Suseong Stadium in Suseong-gu, Daegu, features BTS, Zico, SF9, and others. The concert capacity is about 66,000," and argued, "It makes no sense to proceed with the concert while confirmed cases have been reported."
