Seoul City Repairs and Reinforces Safety-Vulnerable Facilities Including Aging Retaining Walls
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 19th that it will repair and reinforce 18 safety-vulnerable facilities requiring urgent maintenance, such as old residential retaining walls and markets, this year.
In December last year, Seoul selected target sites including retaining walls of row houses in Jongno-gu, markets in Mapo-gu, and aging stone embankments in Gwangjin-gu, after safety management advisory team investigations and a selection committee review from 27 locations applied for by autonomous districts.
Seoul will select additional urgent repair sites through a second public contest scheduled for May.
