15 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed, 11 Linked to Daegu Patient No. 31 (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea has increased by 15.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the morning of the 19th that 15 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 46.
Of the 15 new confirmed cases, 13 occurred in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. Among them, 11 are related to patient number 31 (a 61-year-old Korean woman) who was confirmed on the 18th; 10 of these cases were linked to contact at a church, and 1 was linked to contact at a hospital. The relationship of the remaining 2 patients in this region is currently being investigated.
Among the 2 new confirmed cases outside Daegu and Gyeongbuk, one is the daughter (11 years old, Korean) of patient number 20 (a 42-year-old Korean woman), who tested positive while under self-quarantine. She is the first pediatric patient among confirmed domestic cases and is currently receiving treatment at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital.

In Seongdong-gu, Seoul, one new confirmed case (a 77-year-old Korean man) has also been reported and is currently isolated at the National Medical Center.
