Gas Gong, Introduction of Certification System for Excellent Export-Import Safety Management Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Gas Corporation announced on the 18th that it attended a customs administration meeting held at the Hilton Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, along with six energy public enterprises including the Korea Customs Service and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.
The meeting was organized to share policies of the Korea Customs Service, such as the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) system for companies with large export-import volumes, and to gather various opinions from the industry to promote the development of customs administration and strengthen mutual cooperation. The AEO system provides various benefits in customs administration, such as expedited clearance, when certain certification requirements including safety management standards are met.
Following the meeting, Korea Gas Corporation signed a business agreement with the Korea Customs Service on "AEO Certification and Support for Small and Medium Export Enterprises to Obtain AEO Certification." Through this agreement, they plan to promote the introduction of the AEO certification system within this year and support small and medium export companies, including partner companies, in obtaining AEO certification to secure corporate competitiveness.
A representative from Korea Gas Corporation stated, "Based on close cooperation with the Korea Customs Service, we will actively participate in the taxpayer cooperation program (AEO certification and import tax adjustment system) to enhance the stability and transparency of corporate management, foster a sincere tax payment culture, and strive to create win-win cooperation between large and small-medium enterprises."
