Ahn Cheol-soo: "The Current Administration Is a Conservative Establishment... We Must Stop South Korea's Backward Movement"
"If We Support the People’s Party in This General Election... We Will Create a Reform Government"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Ahn Cheol-soo, the preparatory committee chairman of the People's Party (tentative name), criticized the Moon Jae-in administration on the 18th, saying, "The current regime is nothing but a reactionary vested interest group," and added, "The fake democracy forces can no longer represent our proud history of democratization."
At the Daegu City Party founding convention that day, Chairman Ahn said, "Now our people have clearly come to know who is ruining the country, who is destroying democracy, and what truths the current administration is trying to cover up."
He pointed out, "The current administration is solely focused on regaining power. It only does things that immediately gain votes," and added, "It ignores national reform tasks such as future food sources and future jobs. Issues requiring intergenerational balance, like pensions, health insurance, and national debt, are all passed on as burdens to future generations."
He continued, "The government and ruling party take credit, but all the burdens are shifted onto our sons and daughters," adding, "This is the true face of the current administration stealing from future generations."
Chairman Ahn emphasized, "If things continue like this, the first future generation poorer than the current generation in the history of the Republic of Korea will be born," and said, "This administration is racing backward. We must stop Korea's regression now. We must fight for the future."
He stated, "We must change the regime. In two years, a new administration that truly continues the success of industrialization and the spirit of sacrifice for democratization must be born," and added, "A capable reform government that reads global trends, has insight, and takes on challenges must come into power. To do so, we must build a solid foundation for regime change in the upcoming April 15 general election."
