Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok Orders Proactive Measures for Agricultural Product Price Stabilization
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, instructed proactive measures so that Jeonnam, known as the agricultural province, can establish agricultural product price stabilization measures and actively propose them to the central government.
Governor Kim held a policy meeting with department heads on the 18th and said, "When the President visited Jeonnam last July, regarding the village and onion price stabilization measures, the President requested that good solutions be found in Jeonnam," adding, "Jeonnam needs continuous research to gather the wisdom of experts and farmers to establish price stabilization measures suitable for nationwide field conditions and propose them to the government."
He also said, "It is encouraging that Namdo Market has noticeably developed and its performance is improving steadily," and encouraged, "Let's present development plans, inform farmers well to actively utilize them, and work together to achieve the target of 15 billion won not only in agricultural products but also through joint cooperation in the fisheries sector."
Regarding COVID-19, he said, "Although it seemed to have slowed down so far, the 29th and 30th confirmed cases have occurred, which is worrisome," and emphasized, "We need to maintain vigilance and thorough situation management to prevent community infections."
Governor Kim stated, "We must promptly take actions by department according to the government's announced measures," and urged, "Above all, please advance ahead of other cities and provinces by producing results in each field rather than just planning, including extending tax payment and collection deferral for small business owners."
He continued, "Regarding securing next year's national budget, department heads should take the lead from the government budget stage and make efforts toward the government," adding, "Please make every effort to secure the main budget for projects such as service fees and public contest projects from last year's National Assembly budget process, as well as the National Cardiovascular Center."
