Gwangju Seo-gu to Improve Environment of Informatization Village Education Center
Replacement of Flooring and Outdated Educational Materials
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) has started improving the environment of the Informatization Village education center.
Seo-gu announced on the 18th that it will carry out floor replacement work for one month to create a pleasant educational environment at the Informatization Village education center.
The Seo-gu Informatization Village (Ssangchon-dong, Woomi Artville) opened in September 2004 and has played a significant role as a place for exchange between urban and rural fishing villages through sisterhood ties, while expanding residents' opportunities to participate in informatization education.
Recently, the role of the Informatization Village has greatly expanded by establishing after-school education programs for children and having residents voluntarily participate as instructors.
However, as the facilities have aged, residents have experienced inconveniences when using the education center.
Accordingly, Seo-gu plans to proceed with floor replacement work and also replace outdated educational supplies (PCs, computer desks, chairs, etc.) to revitalize the Informatization Village.
