Seoul Gangseo-gu, Recruitment of Participants for Youth Network Support Project
Support up to 1.5 million KRW per group, supporting various youth community activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is recruiting youth groups to participate in the ‘Youth Network Support Project’ until the 21st to discover and activate youth organizations.
Currently, Gangseo-gu is home to 190,000 youth (aged 19 to 39), and the youth population is increasing further due to the influx of companies into the Magok district.
Taking advantage of these regional characteristics, the district has launched the ‘Youth Network Support Project’ to newly establish youth networks and help young people actively participate in the local community.
Last year, there were 20 groups, but this year the number has increased to 25 groups, with up to 1.5 million KRW provided as activity funds.
The support target is youth groups of three or more members who reside in Gangseo-gu, are university students, or are employed at companies, engaging in various youth community activities such as culture and arts, video production, sports and travel, and animal protection. However, groups involved in political, religious, or profit-making activities are excluded.
Additionally, workshops and exchange events among youth groups will be held regularly to diversify exchanges between youth organizations.
Required documents include the subsidy application form along with ▲organization introduction ▲personal information consent form ▲project plan ▲member list.
Applications and required documents can be submitted by visiting in person or mailing to the Job Policy Division (10-10, Yangcheon-ro 52-gil, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, 4th floor Tamna Youngjaegwan, Exit 1 of Gayang Station).
Applications can also be submitted via email (hnpark08@gangseo.seoul.kr) after the representative’s signature and seal.
The selection results will be announced on March 30 after comprehensive review of personnel composition, project content, and plans by the district’s subsidy review committee.
A district official said, “This project was launched to help youth firmly take root in the community and activate their participation in local society,” adding, “We ask for the interest and participation of many youth groups.”
Last year, the district discovered 191 members from 20 groups and held youth network exchange events sharing lectures by youth activists and activity achievements, receiving high responses from young people.
