On the 17th, New Year Work Report from Economic Ministries at Cheongwadae... "Establishing a Foundation for Innovative Growth, Strengthening Inclusiveness through Job Recovery"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in stated on the afternoon of the 17th during the New Year work report broadcast live on TV for the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Financial Services Commission, "Economic ministries bear a heavy responsibility to show definite changes in people’s livelihoods and the economy this year. The recent COVID-19 situation has made this burden even heavier."
President Moon said, "Everyone has done well so far. Especially last year, in the face of external challenges such as the global economic downturn and Japan’s export restrictions, we laid the groundwork for economic recovery through proactive fiscal policies and preemptive policy responses. At the same time, we have continuously pursued innovation, inclusion, and fairness to fundamentally transform the economic structure and strengthen its resilience," he evaluated.
President Moon emphasized, "We have established the foundation for innovative growth through fostering new industries and a second venture boom. Inclusion has been strengthened with a rebound in jobs and improvements in distribution indicators. Fair economic outcomes have also been added, such as improvements in unfair trade practices and increased win-win cooperation between large corporations and SMEs, thereby laying the groundwork for an innovative inclusive nation."
