Resident Contest for Urban Regeneration Project in Guro 2-dong, Guro-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Sung) is conducting a resident contest for the Guro 2-dong urban regeneration project.

On the 17th, Guro-gu announced that it will hold a resident contest for the 'Guro 2-dong Urban Regeneration Project' to establish a foundation for residents to independently lead the urban regeneration revitalization project.

Guro-gu will select 2 teams for Neighborhood Building, 4 teams for Project Discovery, and 1 team for Space Activation, divided into three categories.

Neighborhood Building is a project to form initial resident groups, and Project Discovery is a project that helps form networks using local resources and discover local agendas. Both projects target resident groups of three or more people living in the Guro 2-dong urban regeneration revitalization area (around 713 Guro 2-dong).

Space Activation is a project that supports urban regeneration-linked projects reflecting local characteristics and the creation of village hub spaces. Any resident group, organization, or association with five or more members can apply regardless of their place of residence.

Neighborhood Building can receive support ranging from 600,000 to 1,000,000 KRW depending on the number of participants, Project Discovery can receive up to 2,000,000 KRW, and Space Activation up to 5,000,000 KRW. Except for Neighborhood Building, other categories require at least 10% self-funding of the subsidy.

Those who wish to participate must submit application forms, project plans, and group (organization) introductions by 6 p.m. on the 28th by visiting the Guro 2 Urban Regeneration Field Support Center (2nd and 3rd floor, 19 Gurodong-ro, Guro-dong) or by email (guro2urc@naver.com). Detailed information on submission documents and project schedules can be found on the district office website.

Guro-gu plans to select support recipients through document review, project selection committee evaluation, and subsidy review committee evaluation, and announce the results on the district office website in May.

A Guro-gu official said, “To assist with understanding the contest and proposal writing, the Field Support Center will provide pre-consultation services until the 26th. We ask for the residents’ active interest and participation.”
