Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation Selected as an Excellent Organization in National Disaster Preparedness Comprehensive Training
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Yoon Jin-bo) announced on the 16th that it was selected as the only excellent institution among nationwide urban railway operating organizations in the comprehensive national disaster preparedness training evaluation hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
Last year, the corporation conducted a 'Comprehensive National Disaster Preparedness Training' assuming a subway derailment and fire accident caused by an earthquake at the Yongsan Vehicle Depot in Dong-gu, Gwangju, in cooperation with Dong-gu Office, Dongbu Fire Station, Dongbu Police Station, and the 503rd Brigade.
During the training period, the corporation received high evaluations for outstanding performance in response systems during disaster situations, including dispatch of the self-defense fire brigade and initial response teams by sector, formation of the subway disaster countermeasures headquarters, on-site command by the 119 Fire Station, and operation of the integrated regional disaster countermeasures headquarters.
