Gwangju Buk-gu Selected for Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Project Competition
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 16th that seven projects were selected in the '2020 Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project' contest, securing 1.234 billion KRW in national funding.
The Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project is selected and supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor according to the characteristics of each local government.
Buk-gu set the goal of 'people-centered job creation, vibrant local economy,' and seven projects in two fields including support for small and medium enterprises and small business owners, improvement of working conditions, and training of professional personnel were selected.
In the regional innovation project field, four projects were selected: 'Support for regional base industries such as design and optical industry,' 'Support for commercialization and lifestyle startups for small business owners,' 'Improvement of awareness and working conditions for small and medium enterprises,' and 'Customized talent training by generation.'
In the general project field, three projects were selected: 'Creating small and medium enterprises capable of sustainable employment' to stabilize employment and prevent the outflow of local talent, 'Regional startup support' providing startup education and marketing for prospective entrepreneurs, and 'Training social service care personnel' to train career-interrupted women as social service care workers.
Buk-gu plans to actively promote the projects from the end of this month together with seven organizations including the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office, the Korea Photonics Technology Institute as the executing agency, Donggang University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and the Design Center.
