China "Thanks to 33 Countries Including Korea for Providing COVID-19 Prevention Supplies"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Eunbyeol] The Chinese government expressed gratitude to the countries that provided epidemic prevention supplies to help curb the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), including South Korea.
Geng Shuang, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a regular briefing on the 14th that, regarding COVID-19, so far, 33 countries and 4 international organizations have stepped forward to provide supplies, adding, "China has the confidence and capability to respond to the epidemic on its own, but we welcome and appreciate the friendly support and assistance from the international community."
Spokesperson Geng explained that as of 12:00 on that day, medical epidemic prevention supplies had been provided from South Korea, Canada, Germany, France, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union (EU), UNICEF, and the United Nations Development Programme. In addition, he added that 17 other countries including Brazil, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Qatar, and one international organization, the United Nations Population Fund, are expected to provide medical supplies soon.
