At the inauguration ceremony held on the 14th at the Harmony Room of the InterContinental Hotel COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, he said, "I will strive to continue the glory of the KPGA that has lasted for over half a century," and emphasized, "The KPGA will definitely grow." He added, "2020 will be the first year of KPGA's leap forward," and stressed, "We will build a developing association so that the efforts of our players who are still sweating hard will not be in vain."

Chairman Koo, who said "Golf must always be faithful to the basics," introduced his golf philosophy by saying, "However, in unexpected crises, creativity must be maximized to overcome the situation," and "Golf, which requires the importance of fundamentals, creativity, a challenging spirit, honesty, trust, and confidence, is a true teacher that helps one understand the principles of the world."
