Bareunmirae, Daansindang, and Minjupyeonghwadang Merge... Party Name is 'Minjutonghapdang'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The Bareunmirae Party, the Alternative New Party, and the Party for Democracy and Peace have agreed to merge on the 17th. The party name will be 'Democratic United Party.'
Park Juseon of the Bareunmirae Party, Yoo Seongyeop of the Alternative New Party, and Park Juhyun of the Party for Democracy and Peace, the respective integration promotion committee heads, reached this agreement after discussions on integration at the National Assembly Members' Office Building on the afternoon of the 14th.
The leadership of the unified party will operate under a joint representative system consisting of the three party leaders. The standing representative will be Son Hakgyu, the eldest and leader of the Bareunmirae Party. Each party will recommend one supreme council member.
However, the term of the joint representatives will be until the 28th, after which an emergency response committee will be formed immediately upon the term's expiration.
