Chungnam Launches 'Attracting Youth' Initiative... 10 Million Won Incentive for Local Employment and Settlers
[Asia Economy (Naepo) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will provide an incentive of 10 million KRW to young people who find jobs and settle in the region.
On the 14th, the province announced that it is recruiting young people to participate in the "Chungnam-type Regional Balanced Development Youth Employment Project." This project focuses on selecting unemployed youth under the age of 39 residing in the region, helping them get hired, and encouraging them to live locally.
Recruitment will be conducted until the 20th of this month, with a total of 200 positions available. Selected youth will receive basic and advanced training to strengthen job skills, a monthly transportation allowance of 50,000 KRW, and an annual self-development education allowance of 600,000 KRW.
Hiring will take place at 444 corporations, organizations, and small and medium-sized enterprises within the region, following procedures such as interviews in accordance with project regulations. Companies that hire youth must sign regular employment contracts by the end of March next month and allow official work to begin in April.
At this time, the province plans to support participating companies with youth labor costs of 2 million KRW per month (with a 10% company contribution) for two years, and additionally provide 10 million KRW (2.5 million KRW in four installments) to youth who continue working at the company.
