On the 13th, TV Chosun's 'Mr. Trot' aired footage of Kim Ho-joong, Jeong Dong-won, In Chan-won, and Go Jae-geun practicing for the third round of the finals. While practicing choreography under the theme of 'Youth,' Jeong Dong-won received the news that his grandfather had passed away.
Previously, Jeong Dong-won expressed his affection for his grandfather by saying that he joined 'Mr. Trot' because he wanted to show his grandfather appearing on TV, adding to the poignancy.
Upon hearing the news of Jeong Dong-won's grandfather's passing, his team members visited the funeral hall. Jeong Dong-won showed a brave face while receiving condolences from visitors at the mourning site.
When Nam Seung-min asked, "Aren't you sad?" Jeong Dong-won replied, "I am sad, but I hold it in. If I cry, my grandfather wouldn't like it."
In response, Jang Min-ho comforted him, saying, "We will protect you until the very end, until you grow up, Dong-won."
Later, Jeong Dong-won shared his feelings, saying, "I am very grateful that my brothers and uncles came all the way from Seoul to Hadong."
The contestants then chose 'Baek Se Insaeng' as their first song for the competition. Despite the sad news, Jeong Dong-won overcame his grief and received praise for his performance of 'Hope Song.'
