Amazon CEO Purchases $194.6 Million Mansion in LA Beverly Hills
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunjin Jeong] Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, has purchased a mansion worth $165 million (approximately 194.7 billion KRW) in Los Angeles (LA), USA, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 12th (local time).
According to the report, the mansion Bezos bought is a large estate of 9 acres (about 36,421㎡) located in Beverly Hills, a wealthy neighborhood in LA, featuring a 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, gardens, and guest houses. The mansion was designed in the 1930s for Jack Warner, the late former president of the entertainment company Warner Bros.
Bezos purchased the property directly from David Geffen, a media industry mogul and co-founder of DreamWorks, without an intermediary. Geffen had bought the house in the 1990s for $47.5 million. WSJ stated that this mansion purchase is the highest-priced home transaction in the LA area.
