40s Male YouTuber Arrested for Drunk Driving During YouTube Live Broadcast
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] A male YouTuber in his 40s was caught by the police for drunk driving during a YouTube live broadcast.
On the 13th, the Incheon Western Police Station announced that YouTuber A (47) was booked without detention on charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act.
A is suspected of driving a vehicle in a heavily intoxicated state from Gyeyang-gu, Gyesan-dong at around 12:05 a.m. that day to near an apartment in Seo-gu, Sinhyeon-dong.
The police reportedly tracked A’s movements by accessing his YouTube channel after receiving a report from a viewer stating, "The YouTuber is drunk driving during a live broadcast."
A was arrested by officers after parking in Sinhyeon-dong, Seo-gu, going to a restaurant in Seoknam-dong, and then leaving the premises.
At the time, A’s blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be 0.101%, which is at the license cancellation level.
