[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeong Byeong-seok, president of Chonnam National University, has launched the ‘Doctor Helicopter Revival’ relay campaign to save precious lives.
According to Chonnam National University on the 13th, President Jeong uploaded a 3-minute 30-second video titled ‘The Sound of Doctor Helicopter is Life’ on YouTube, appealing for many people to support the doctor helicopter.
President Jeong emphasized, “The first person to introduce the doctor helicopter in our country was the late Yoon Han-duk, director of the Central Emergency Medical Center, who graduated from Chonnam National University College of Medicine,” adding, “An emergency medicine specialist, who was neither an engineer nor an aviation expert, took the lead in aviation law, overseas cases, and establishing standards for modifying general aircraft because of the ‘golden time.’”
In the video, President Jeong and the participants said in unison, “As our late alumnus Yoon Han-duk wished, who lived like a flame and faded like dew, the ‘flying ambulance’ has become a grateful and welcome friend to us,” and “Just as the cry of a newborn baby brings joy and happiness to everyone, the propeller sound of the doctor helicopter is hope and revival for patients and their families.”
The ‘Doctor Helicopter Campaign’ is being carried out by various figures performing balloon popping performances that produce sounds similar in volume to the 115 dB noise generated during the takeoff and landing of emergency helicopters, which has been a source of complaints, and uploading videos supporting the doctor helicopter on YouTube one after another.
