Gwangyang City Supports Conversion of Children's School Transport Vehicles to LPG Cars
Applications Accepted Until the 28th, Fixed Support of 5 Million Won per Vehicle
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 13th, Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced that it will implement a subsidy support project for converting old diesel vehicles used as children's school transportation vehicles to LPG vehicles.
The children's school vehicle LPG conversion support project is a program that provides a subsidy of 5 million KRW when an old diesel school vehicle is scrapped and replaced with a new LPG vehicle to reduce fine dust and protect children's health.
The support target is owners who scrap children's school vehicles (small diesel vehicles) registered before December 31, 2011, and purchase LPG vehicles for the same purpose, and the vehicle must be registered as a children's school bus under Article 52 of the Road Traffic Act.
This year, the total number of supported vehicles is 20, limited to vehicles permitted for private paid transportation, with priority given to older vehicles, and selection is made in the order of daycare centers > kindergartens > special schools > elementary schools > academies and sports facilities.
However, vehicles operated by national or public institutions, vehicles equipped with emission reduction devices, and vehicles that have applied for early scrapping subsidies for old diesel vehicles are excluded from the target.
