On the 13th, Samsung Electronics released a statement emphasizing, "The illegal administration of drugs by Vice Chairman Lee is absolutely not true."
On the same day, some media outlets reported, "A whistleblower has come forward claiming that Vice Chairman Lee habitually administered propofol, prompting the prosecution to launch an investigation."
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office is known to have received the case regarding Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong's propofol allegations, reported to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, from the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on the 13th of last month and has begun an investigation.
In response, Samsung Electronics stated, "The reports by the media are one-sided claims based on speculation, misunderstandings, and mutual suspicions among involved parties with disputes," adding, "He received treatment in the past at a hospital based on a doctor's professional opinion, and later, due to personal circumstances, he had to receive home visits, but the allegations of illegal drug administration are completely untrue."
