[Comprehensive] 'Golmok Sikdang' Baek Jong-won, Kim Sung-joo, Jung In-sun Spit Out Food One After Another "It's Serious"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] On the show 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant,' Baek Jong-won, Kim Sung-joo, and Jung In-sun spat out food during a tasting.
On the 12th, SBS's 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' aired the first day of the solution for the Gongeung-dong railroad alley.
On this episode, Baek Jong-won visited a grilled pork belly restaurant and tasted the main menu item, spicy grilled pork belly. Baek Jong-won gave a harsh review, saying, "It was made with meat marinated for a long time, so the off-flavor is strong."
Kim Sung-joo, who tasted the food together, could not tolerate the off-flavor and eventually spat out the food. He criticized, "The off-flavor hidden by the seasoning comes up in the aftertaste."
The grilled pork belly restaurant emphasized that it does not use seasonings. However, various seasonings such as seasoned salt and beef bone powder were found in the kitchen.
Seeing this, Baek Jong-won said, "Seasonings are not bad," but pointed out, "You can use them, but you need to know what you're using. You shouldn't boast without knowing."
He added, "There needs to be more consideration on how to grill the pork belly."
For the second restaurant solution, Baek Jong-won visited a vegetable gopchang (beef or pork intestines) restaurant run by a husband and wife. It was known that the restaurant was struggling due to a lack of customers. The production team revealed that they visited 15 times for prior investigation but only saw one customer in the dining area during that time.
After tasting the vegetable gopchang, the main menu of the restaurant, Baek Jong-won spat it out, saying, "I understand why the business is not doing well." He emphasized, "I usually don't spit out food."
Jung In-sun, who usually likes gopchang, said, "I usually enjoy even old gopchang, but this one leaves a smell in my mouth continuously," and added, "I have no aversion to the typical gamy smell, but this gopchang is different," as she spat it out.
