[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 7th that Yeonseo Market in Eunpyeong-gu was finally selected for the Hope Project (Cultural Tourism Market), a project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The Cultural Tourism Market Development Project is a two-year initiative investing over 1 billion KRW from national, city, and district funds to intensively develop the unique strengths of markets linked with local cultural and tourism resources. This is the first time Eunpyeong-gu has been selected.
Last year, Yeonseo Market invested about 270 million KRW in the ‘Specialized First Step Market’ project, successfully completing five core tasks: payment convenience, customer trust, hygiene cleanliness, strengthening merchant organizations, and safety management. As a result, it was selected for continuous support as a cultural tourism market.
Over the next two years, Yeonseo Market plans to implement various projects to enhance market competitiveness, including ▲creating a green environment (market garden) ▲developing a story design BI ▲renewing entrances and signboards ▲establishing a sweet caf? ▲campaigns to reduce disposable products, aiming to become a representative market of the region.
