Samyang Foods Online Brand 'Bultaneun Series' Enters Large Supermarkets
Sales Start at Homeplus from the 13th... Container Razor to Be Introduced Soon
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Samyang Foods announced on the 12th that it will sell its online brand ‘Bultaneun Series’ in large supermarkets following convenience stores.
The Bultaneun Series is a product that enhances spiciness using smoky flavor and Cheongyang chili peppers. Although it was initially launched as an online-only product, it has been consistently mentioned on social networking services (SNS) and gained a reputation for being delicious, leading to an expansion of offline sales channels, including entering convenience stores in December last year.
Currently, two types of the Bultaneun Series (Bultaneun Gochu Jjajang, Bultaneun Gochu Jjamppong) sell about 150,000 units per month online on average and are receiving positive responses among young consumers.
Starting from the 13th, Samyang Foods plans to sell the two Bultaneun Series products at Homeplus and actively target convenience store channels by additionally launching cup noodles.
