Seongnam City to Purchase Additional Urban-Related Historical Artifacts... Until the 10th of Next Month
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is set to purchase artifacts related to urban history.
Seongnam City announced on the 12th that it will buy artifacts to be exhibited at the municipal museum (tentatively named Seongnam Urban History Museum), which will be established by the end of 2024 on the site of the No. 1 Industrial Complex Neighborhood Park in Sinheung-dong, Sujeong-gu. The purchase deadline is until the 10th of next month.
The city is focusing on collecting modern and contemporary materials of Seongnam, such as photos and videos showing the construction process of the Gwangju Large Complex. It also seeks to collect old documents, maps, daily necessities, and folk items that reveal the history, culture, and figures of the former Seongnam area (including Gwangju-bu).
Submissions are accepted at the Pangyo Museum, located at 191 Pangyo-ro, Bundang-gu.
The city will conduct a preliminary evaluation meeting and then an artifact appraisal meeting to decide on the acquisition and pricing of the submitted artifacts.
Once the purchase process is completed, ownership of the artifacts will be transferred to Seongnam City.
