Gimhae City Completes Final Inspection for International Safe City Certification
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] On the 11th, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced that it had undergone an official on-site inspection by the International Safe Community Certification Center (ISCCC).
The inspection team from the ISCCC in Sweden was led by Dale Hanson, Chair of the Certification Center, and included Professor Jo Jun-pil, Director of the International Safe Community Support Center, and Professor Bae Jeong-i, Director of the International Safe Community Research Institute at Inje University.
In their overall evaluation, the inspection team stated, "Gimhae City's safe community projects fully meet the certification standards, the safety projects were appropriately derived based on damage diagnosis and current conditions, and the outcomes are excellent." They also praised, "Above all, the establishment and execution of promotion strategies aligned with the purpose and objectives of the international safe community initiative are outstanding."
In response, Mayor Heo Seong-gon of Gimhae City pledged to actively incorporate the inspection team's recommendations and make every effort to ensure Gimhae becomes a sustainable international safe community.

Once Gimhae City's certification is confirmed, the official certification document will arrive in writing within this month, and the city will be officially recognized as an international safe community.
